Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I was distraught about my huge debt and in a very dark place. I felt overwhelmed and also embarrassed that things had got so bad. I never meant to borrow more than I could afford to pay back. But my circumstances in life changed and I tried to manage it myself until I couldn’t see a way out. I’ve had nothing but a positive experience with StepChange, it provided instant relief to a highly anxious period of our lives. Almost 20 k in debt .

Almost 20 k in debt . I luckily found out about step change with their help and advice. I am repaying my debt , interest on credits cards stopped and phone calls from different credit cards companies/ debt collectors. Friendly staff, ready to help
