Life changing help

I was in debt through loans and credit cards following a divorce. I was being chased for payments by letters and phone calls that I couldn't make and was hiding away from the issue. I contacted Citizens Advice and they suggested that I contact StepChange. I discussed my situation with them over the phone and they suggested that a debt management plan would be best for me. They immediately arranged a 60 day break with my creditors which meant that they would not contact me during this period. I then provided a full breakdown of all my debts to Stepchange and they asked me to complete a budget on their website which detailed all my incomings and outgoings. This helped StepChange propose a monthly payment that I could make to my creditors. StepChange then contacted all my creditors on my behalf and agreed a monthly payment that would be made to each of them until the debt was cleared. I make one monthly payment to StepChange and they distribute this amongst my creditors. My budget is reviewed on an annual basis and I receive a monthly statement from StepChange which also advises when I will be debt clear. My debts were not reduced by StepChange but the fact that they deal with my creditors and I only have to make one monthly payment to them has taken so much pressure and anxiety away. I do not receive phone calls or letters from my creditors and StepChange have made the clearing of my debts so much easier and with far less stress and worry. Throughout this process, StepChange have been so professional and easy to deal with and they have taken away all the worry and anxiety that I had over my debts. I would not hesitate to recommend StepChange to anyone facing debt issues. I went to Step Change and they put my mind at rest.

I went to Step Change as i was a first time mum and needed help gettign rid of my debt. They were very understanding and help me navigate through everything, even with the yearly reviews. i lost my job so things became very tight and i was already in a bit of a mess, i managed to find work but its on less money and during this time bills and credit cards became hard to keep on top off, speaking to my bank and citicens advice they advised i speak with STEP CHANGE, when i spoke with them straight away they put me at ease and saying we will help you get this sorted, they didnt judge me and couldnt do enough, they set me up very fast with a DMP and although it will take time (but i will earn more) they have been really helpful and the advice has been first class.
