StepChange have been amazing. Their team is so supportive, and are there whenever you need. They give you time to discuss everything you need to discuss, and find ways to support you. I was so nervous to even consider getting this type of support, partially embarrassed, but StepChange made me feel comfortable and helped me to understand that we can make changes to help me not lay awake at night worrying about money. Stepchange has turned my life around

Stepchange has turned my life around and released me of my financial shadow that surrounded me. It’s been difficult to have such a limited amount of money each month but it’s made me more aware of my spending in general. They offer fantastic advice and I love how writing everything down in their budget annually - or more if I need- helps. I am nearly half way through paying bacj my debts and I feel such a sense of empowerment that Stepchange has given me. I don’t know what I would have done without them. Awful, slow and incompetent.

Impossible to contact (over an hour wait or they just cut you off), and get basic information wrong even when provided multiple times and multiple ways. The inline portal has very limited functionality and isn’t user friendly. They are also super slow at implementing anything, all of which just adds to stress Reviewed on: 6th May 2026
