Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Took the stress out of handling my debt

Took the stress out of handling my debt into one simple payment, they took care of everything else, and the monthly statements online are great to see the debt gradually decreasing - such an easy thing to do should have done it ages ago. No more threatening letters or emails - really takes the pressure off. They take all incoming/outgoing expenditure into account and leave you with a easily met monthly direct debit but still leaves you enough to live on Reviewed on: 29th May 2026

A huge thank you to StepChange for their outstanding support. Dealing with debt can feel completely overwhelming, but their team stepped in and immediately liaised with all my creditors promptly and efficiently. They have helped me significantly reduce what I owe and have put me on a clear, manageable path to being completely debt-free in the near future. StepChange helped

We have had a debt manage plan in place for some time and StepChange has been a godsend in helping us manage our finances better. Whilst we still have some debt it is significantly less than what we had and with their help we have not added to that debt. Reviewed on: 29th May 2026
