Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

After a messy divorce and still having to bring up c...

After a messy divorce and still having to bring up children and pay Child support I found myself in a massive amount of debt .Eventually the debt became out of control. With the help and advise of Stepchange I was able to regain control over my own circumstances. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

StepChange have changed my life

StepChange have not only changed my life, they saved my life. I was in utter despair with my finances and in a very dark place. I didn't even know they existed. From my very first job contact with them, I felt listened to. I didn't feel judged. I was made to feel like there was a way out. Speaking with a real person

I had got myself into debt and didn’t know where to...

I had got myself into debt and didn’t know where to turn, I saw a ad for stepchange and contacted them. Everything was easy to do from the initial call to working out how much I can afford to pay.
