Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Stepchange saved me!

I was so ill and not sleeping because I owed £30k in loans and credit cards. I didn't want to live, I wanted the pain and worry to stop. I heard about StepChange from a work colleague who I had confided in. The same day I phoned up and my life changed forever! The lady I spoke to was so helpful, didn't judge me . At last I could see light at the end of this tunnel of debt I was in. Now I'm very nearly debt free, from owing £30k to only having 12 months left on my debt management plan, is something I never ever could have dreamed of! StepChange saved me. Gave me a reason to live. Might sound dramatic, but I was so close to the edge, I would never have cleared my debts without your help and guidance, I will be forever grateful. Thankyou. Helping me get debt free

An invaluable tool!

I’ve been able to get on top of my debts for the first time in years! Being able to see live figures as my debts are being paid, albeit little by little, is such a great feeling! My other half is almost at the end of his, he’s been committed to his repayments and it really shows. Stepchange have helped me immeasurably, I was completely underwater and couldn't really see a way out of my debts... I decided to try Stepchange and see what happened, and it's been the best thing I have done, they've made it so straightforward, they replied to any concerns, and made everything transparent and easy to understand. I can now see I'm headed in the right direction, it's a huge weight off of my shoulders. I would highly, highly!
