Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Overall it has been a real stress reliever, fact...

Overall it has been a real stress reliever, the fact we now have control of our money and can actually see our debts being paid off instead of constantly paying random minimum amount here and there. All of the debts are combined into one payment and makes repaying so much easier and even better, cheaper too. I would highly recommend anyone that is in debt or worried about debt to seek advice from these guys, I would say I would happily use them again but I don’t plan on getting into debt ever again. Although they do have some useful online tools that will help now and in the future with managing money easier and I will be taking advantage of them. Brilliant service

Helped me so much can't thank them enough dealt with all of my creditors and put a payment plan in place. Very understanding, took away my worries and could sleep at night. My debt was because of my ex who did a runner and left me with everything. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

Incredible help & support, I never knew existed!

The help and support that I received during an incredibly low, difficult and desperate time was incredible. I never knew that they could help so much. If there is one thing I can suggest is, call them! They will review your debt, your outgoings and look at combining everything into one manageable payment. I cannot describe the relief I felt, whilst I have a long way to go, I am in a happier place with thanks to StepChange, no charges, all your money goes straight to your creditors. Challenges Reaching Your Office by Phone

I would like to note that, while every other aspect of communication has been satisfactory, reaching your office by phone has been quite challenging. On several occasions, I have spent considerable time on hold, only for the call to be abruptly terminated without warning or resolution. This has made it difficult to seek assistance or clarification in a timely manner and has added to the anxiety of obtaining important information. I kindly request that you look into this matter, as improved phone accessibility would be greatly beneficial to prospective candidates like me who may need urgent or direct support.
