Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

These people are amazing I have been with them since 2022 and the absolute relief they have given me from the moment we approached stepchange has changed our lives everything was managed and sorted for us to manage our finances they are always there at the end of the phone everyone I have had contact with at stepchange have been so kind understanding never judgemental I have had to approach them again recently as our income changed the advise and help was a hundred per cent actions to take that I would not have considered if you need help just get in touch with them like I said they are amazing many thanks to all the people at stepchange your all wonderful. Got so out of my depth in debt that I needed help...

Got so out of my depth in debt that I needed help and its an embarrassing thing to admit as a near 60 year old. I contacted StepChange and a weight has been lifted. They understood, listened, and most importantly didn't judge me but offered excellent practical advice. I now pay a manageable amount each month and will be debt free in 4 years.
