Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

From stress and hell. To survival

From stress and hell. My problems shrank and the weight on my shoulders eased. Thank god for step change now I'm in a better position.. I'm still skint but at least I'm trying to do the right thing rather than shoving my head into the sand. Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

Stepchange really helped me, like anyone with debt there is a lot of pressure, feeling that you have failed feel alone with this pressure, it took me some time to contact Stepchange but I am now so glad I did, if you find yourselves in this situation do not leave it to long to get the help you need.
