Debt overload

I was so low in life, never known which way to turn. At my old work place they was not very nice. My bank put me in contact with step change best thing ever stopping the bill man knocking on my door, was able to buy food, get my hair done and buy cloths. Thank you stepchange. StepChange definitely changed my life.

StepChange definitely changed my life. I had got into a lot of debt with credit cards and was only paying them minimum amount which did not even cover the interest. I went to Citizens advice who recommended StepChange and they took over and worked out a plan to pay off the cards. I hope to be debt free in 2026. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024

Very grateful raising my head above the water.

First of all,I was a bit ashamed of my financial situation after the Covid virus. I was in a lot of deaths with credit cards and other store purchases. After getting paid and paying credit cards and other essentials spending like rent etc,I was barely able to hold my head above the water. I did some research and came upon the StepChange Charity and with nothing to loose I call them.It was the most important decision that I made I was almost in tears when I finished talking to one of their advisors who was able to reassure me of my confidence and was able to talk through all of bills, expenses. They were able to work out a plan for me which I am very grateful for. I am not dept free as yet, but I am in a far better place than a couple years ago. Thank you for all your support and advice that you have given me and I can still call if I am in a difficult situation. For eg. I was in a situation where I couldn’t make my monthly payments and they were able to readjusted my payments. I have about 3 more years to go before I am dept free, if it wasn’t for StepChange Charity I wouldn’t be able to be in this position where I am able to pay off all of by deaths. Step change helped me when I thought there was no way of getting my finance's in order. They helped bring my repayment down to a cost I could afford. They were also very understanding doing their best to help me. Keeping promises of call backs. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024

The best thing I have done.

After separating from my partner I struggled to keep up with my payments. Stepchange staff have always been very helpful and never make me feel guilty. They always try to find the best way for the client to coped with debt. I am now over halfway through my payments schedule thanks to Stepchange. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024

They saved my life 18 years ago when I was in dire straits with bailiffs harassing me. Since then stepchsnge has continued to hand hold me through the process, and enabled me to pay back my debts without living in poverty. They are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! Reviewed on: 2nd May 2024
