Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Absolutely amazing.

Absolutely amazing. Very helpful. I was sceptic at the beginning but had no other choice and accepted help from StepChange. I will do it again without hesitation. Stepchange are a life raft for people like me

Stepchange are a life raft for people like me who gets stuck in a spiraling debt crisis. There's no judgement and everything is free. I was almost scammed by a private company but thankfully I found Stepchange. It can be difficult to contact them by phone as they are likely understaffed from lack of funding. But they have an email you can contact and that tends to be quite quick. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026
