Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

An absolute lifeline

Step change helped me get things into a manageable order. They were kind, supportive, and non judgemental from the start and have continued to be so whenever I have had cause to call. StepChange have really helped me!

I have had a good experience with StepChange so far and I am pleased I got help when I did, as my debt was crippling me. The only reason I didn't say that StepChange were not good value for money is that they do not charge anything. They just help you sort yourself out, without incurring more debt.
