I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

I went to a dark place and didn't know what to do with the debts so just ignored the letters and demands I was receiving thinking wrongly if I kept paying the minimum things would be OK, and in the end this didnt work as the minimum payment incurred interest, so had to seek help and found stepchange who helped me by giving me a way to pay so that the balances owed didn't increase.
