Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I have been mostly very happy with the service I have had. They certainly helped me get out of a great big hole I had dug for myself.! They have also been very discreet which has been invaluable as no one else has been aware of my problem. The only thing that I have been a bit concerned about is the fact that I have had notifications from a couple of companies that have informed me that I still owe them money. I have explained that Step Change had dealt with all of that and that my file has been closed by them but they are still sending me letters so I will be offering to pay them off a bit at a time.
