Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

From Zero to Hero – StepChange Gave Me My Life Back I’m a guy in my 20s, and not too long ago, I thought life was over. I had no job, no direction, and £6,000 of debt I couldn’t pay off. It felt like there was no way out. Then I found StepChange. They helped me set up a Debt Management Plan (DMP) that actually worked for me. With their support, I’ve paid off almost all of my debt - and I’m nearly there. Just a little more to go, and I’ll be completely debt-free. StepChange gave me structure, hope, and a fresh start when I couldn’t see a way forward. Life is good now. I’m working again, and I finally feel in control of my future. Debt Management Plan Experience

Easy to get a Debt Management Plan online. It was recommended as the best option for me. Step Change contacted my creditors and arrange all the admin. Their recommendations to my creditors were accepted and all is proceeding smoothly after some 9 months. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
