I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

From the first phone and throughout the whole process I felt respected and valued as a client and individual. StepChange stopped me from going mad with worry to being able to focus on the future. I was in a terrible situation with my financial affairs as all of sudden my employment status was changed. Was struggling and looking for an opportunity to come out with my bad experience. I was having trouble with my creditors then through government website came across Step Change debt charity. From the very first moment I contacted them they provided me the right guidance and now I am settling my creditors to best of my abilities hence having a relief. Thanks to Step Change.
