Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

I would like to say thank you for the excellent support I received. Everything was very clear and helpful from the beginning. The staff member I spoke with was very kind, understanding, and patient. They explained everything carefully and made sure I understood all the information. I was feeling very stressed and worried, but they helped to calm me down and made me feel much more comfortable about the situation. Their professional and caring attitude really meant a lot to me. Get the help

Approaching the service is scary and disclosing your situation is even harder with what seems like endless and impossible questions but with your debt situation established things do improve and ease.
