Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Understanding, knowledgeable and easy to talk to

I have always found them to be professional, understanding, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I would recommend that anyone struggling with debt speak with them as although they can't tell you what to do, they give the advice to make an informed decision. Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

Stepchange my Heroes

When I first called Stepchange they were not judgemental and each time I have needed to call the staff have been very helpful and understanding. My debt problem had made life very difficult but they helped so much to make my debts easy to manage. I had a very uncontrollable debt problem which was getting worse with the added interest every month and I did not know what to do. Stepchange helped to get the interest stopped and with a DMP I have got to a point where I will be debt free very soon.. Reviewed on: 6th June 2025
