Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Too proud to ask for help!

Best decision I've made.

I was overwhelmed by trying to keep up payments to creditors. I was recommended to contact Step Change and it was the best decision I ever made. They helped me to construct a budget where I made regular monthly payments to my creditors but still had enough money to cover all my other outgoings. I've been with Step Change for nearly two years and they have continued to provide support. Thanks to them, I've never missed a payment to my creditors and I'm in a stable financial situation.
