Good all 'round!

Several of the savings accounts, for example, have near market-leading interest rates for the contemporary context (e.g. Suffolk Savvy Saver, which has very few restrictions). Such accounts, being regulated by FCA and PRA, are extremely free of risk that monetary value will be lost. Also: essentially all UK building societies have better ethical consumer ratings than most of the high street banks. If you're in the east of England, SBS is especially strong in supporting community endeavours. (Membership does require a postal address in the area). Staff are - as one might expect - routinely friendly and helpful! Reviewed on: 21st January 2022

Fantastic staff

The staff in the Woodbridge branch are all absolutely lovely. As a deaf person, I always feel nervous going into town by myself, because I am anxious that I will not hear people. Myself and my hearing dog, Pippin, had some errands to run, and had to deposit some money into my savings account, and every time we go in, the staff are so lovely and welcoming. They all greet me, ask what I am visiting for, and obviously come and say hello to Pippin (who loves the attention!). Pippin is a trained hearing dog, and was matched with me in April last year, but I constantly have to train him. We love to come into the building society in Woodbridge and practice our ‘sit’ and ‘wait’. The staff are always patient and happy for us to do this. Although, he has got into the habit of jumping up to look over the desk! (Sorry!) We will work on that when we next come in. Thank you for making me feel comfortable, especially during the pandemic mask period (impossible to lipread!). Thankfully the staff are more than happy to lower their masks, if they are wearing one. Regular Saving

I have found the help via emails excellent. It would however be easier and less labour intensive if some of this could be done on line Reviewed on: 5th January 2022

Couldn't have been more helpful

Due to having to isolate, contacted SBS by email to get funds from a maturing savings transferred directly into my bank account without having to go into branch. Apart from one telephone call for security checks, all done by email and the funds are already in my account. Brilliant, thank you so much. Vivky was the lady who assisted me, but when I have been into a branch/emailed in the past, staff have always been very helpful. Reviewed on: 4th January 2022
