You can open a Tembo cash lifetime ISA or a stocks and shares lifetime ISA by downloading the app and depositing a minimum of £1.

Tembo doesn’t charge monthly subscription fees for the lifetime ISAs, but there is an annual platform fee for the stocks and shares lifetime ISA.

I wish I had known about Tembo earlier

I hadn't had an ISA before now but now I wished I had known about Tembo years ago. The information they provide is so clear and the technical functionality of their system is brilliant. It's so easy to send money into your account and see it working. I just wish more people knew about them because it seems like such a no-brainer to set up an account if you're a young person who has hopes of buying a house, and Tembo only adds to that hope! I enjoy Tembo, I have their Lifetime ISA and Cash ISA. Additionally I have recommended their ISAs to three friends who have subsequently all opened an account. Their UI is very enjoyable and the interest earned on the money is competitive and attractive. I have actually moved my funds from a different platform to here. Tembo helped me save for my first house, and in this day and age that’s a rare thing to happen. I had an excellent interest rate and received my government top up. Withdrawing my lifetime ISA was simple and straightforward and if I had a question it was answered within a day. Highly recommend Tembo if you’re a first time buyer :) Reviewed on: 3rd February 2026

Changed providers

I moved to Tembo from another provider as it provided more benefits to myself for my saving goal for a house deposit. From the set up to the transfer everything was done very efficiently and I was updated throughout the process. The interest rate still mains one of the best providers (without the year bonus added rate) and everything on the app is very easy to find/use. Tembo makes getting a mortgage so easy

Tembo came recommended to me and as someone who is saving for my first mortgage, it has been a great experience; from making sense of the complexities of buying a first home with so much information on the very user friendly app to the great customer service, it has made arranging for my first mortgage simple and easy. The best app for a first time buyer

Following getting my first career level job, I have been using Tembo to save for my dream countryside cottage (think escape to the country!). Tembo has been a brilliant help in achieving this goal providing a market leading interest rate, to help out beat inflation and preserve spending power. As I have savings shared across over platforms too due to the LISA limit, I have found it particularly helpful to be input what this figure is so, which Tembo takes into account when providing the time to target reached metric. As I’ve approached my target, I’ve started using other really useful features such as the personalised timeline of actions to take at different time points to be able to close and move in on a certain date you select. As a first time-solo buyer this a godsend having an actionable list I need to complete, and understanding more about the nuances of when these activities need to be completed.
