Competitive savings interest rate

This account came to my attention after researching best easy access savings rates on moneyfacts.co.uk and thisismoney.co.uk. Terms clear and concise. Account opening simple and straightforward, with ability to fund account immediately after opening. Perfect for my needs. Reviewed on: 22nd July 2022

Unhelpful

my account

you emailed me stating that I had an unread message so I logged in and read it which thanked me for investing some money in my account which I then opened to check and yet the money was not showing in the account !!!!! Reviewed on: 28th June 2022

The best telephone customer service ever!

How refreshing. I have been completely fed up with other banks and building societies whenever contacting them. They keep you waiting, don't listen and everything just becomes unnecessarily difficult. I spoke to Lisa this morning who was the model of efficiency, professionalism and courteousness. If that's what I can expect every time I call, I'll continue banking with Family Building Society. The competition can learn something from you! Reviewed on: 30th May 2022

Slow to raise the savings interest rate

Quick to cut savings rates yet slow to raise them compared to others. Reviewed on: 11th May 2022

Decisions about interest rates are always difficult and our aim at the Family Building Society is that we continue to offer competitive rates. Our rates are set on a combination of factors, one of which is Bank of England Bank Rate. You may have seen in our Spring newsletter that the funding the Bank of England directed to all banks and building societies during the pandemic had the inevitable effect of pushing down retail savings rates. It is only recently that retail rates have moved significantly, and we adjusted our savings interest rates from 26 April in response to that. Cannot access online account

Tried with several browsers inc Chrome and Safari. Message showing is. online.familybuildingsociety.co.uk redirected you too many times. contact the provider. Except there is no email for FBS online issues so I guess wait for 2 hours on a phone call. Not impressed. Reviewed on: 13th April 2022

Windfall Bond

Very friendly help

Called FBS as I’d forgotten my username - very helpful customer assistant reminded me and waited whilst I attempted a login in case there was any problems with my password etc. Reviewed on: 31st March 2022
