Fraudulent company. Avoid like plague.

1
In my opinion and experience AA Breakdown cover is fraudulent company. They break the contract and manipulate the situation for the purpose to avoid towing or paying for car to be serviced (if you have that additional option). My experience is similar to many experience you can find in online reviews. They will gladly take your money for the membership but avoid fulfilling their legal obligation by making up unfounded reasons without any proof or sense. You may need car breakdown cover in the future. AA will let you down. Reviewed on: 17th April 2023

£300 charge for a 1 mile pick up because of two flat tyres

1
My mother had two flat tyres, on her Rover 45, the AA charged her £300 to recover the car 1 mile to my house, absolute rip-off of my 82 year old. She had Premium Cover & they did her over when she was stuck at the side of a dangerous road, claiming the tyres were damaged in an RTA - which they were not. Refused to pick up car without an on the spot card payment of £300!!!!!! They will be cancelled & history from tomorrow. Reviewed on: 5th April 2023

Absolute disgrace

Ball joint popped out confirmed by AA patrol some 5 hours later only to have it referred to Jackson’s local recovery who was lazy and claimed it was involved in a rtc despite absolutely No damage not even a scratch on vehicle. None the less I have the full cover having a disabled elderly individual with me at all times. Luckily I’m local and my elderly disabled mother was able to get home in a taxi. Some 19 hours later I’m stranded for a service I paid over £400 for to cover me for everything! Been a member for years and it’ll only be trouble free should you never break down! Won’t be renewing in June! Reviewed on: 16th March 2023

Great Roadside Assistance

5
Had a chap named Guy help me with my car today. Having recently switched over from RAC due to a disagreement over a battery warranty, first experience was great. Perfect communication, ran additional tests they didn’t have to and really helped me diagnose the problem. Gave recommendations of where to go at the lowest rate, checked my tyre pressure as they looked low, and came earlier than we expected. Offered a tip as a thank you, and even refused it. Can’t fault the service or the technician at all, and will certainly stay with them from now on. Many thanks to Guy and the AA. Reviewed on: 23rd February 2023

This company stole £342 from my business account without authorisation.

This company stole £342 from my business account without authorisation. I signed up to the AA breakdown in Jan 2022 for £120. On the 2nd of Jan 2023 I received an email stating that my policy would be auto-renewed at a cost of £342! that day. This was not something I had authorised. I checked that the payment had not gone out and stopped my card, I also checked that no standing order or direct debit was in place. I sent an email to the AA and told them that I did not want to auto renew and they emailed back and said that I have agreed to it by accepting the T&Cs. (I never accept auto renewals and had I been aware of this I would not have accepted it). I then received a second email with an offer to renew at £120, I refused on principle. I considered the matter delt with but on the 1st Feb £342 was taken from my account. I am still unsure about how this was taken as my card details had changed! I informed my banks fraud team and the amount was refunded, I am very concerned that this company is able to take money without current card details! Unauthorised direct debit?? I have no idea how it was done but if I were to take £342 I would be arrested, one rule for the big fish and another for the small fry! Reviewed on: 3rd February 2023
