Loyalty Rewarded

I've been with this company for about 5 years and they always try their utmost to keep their prices competitive, I've seen a steady decline in my premiums which is very much welcome in today's age of high inflation. Reviewed on: 9th March 2022

Avoid this company

All was good until had to make a non-fault claim. They decided to write-off my car. Copart has collected the vehicle in 2 days, only after collection Admiral came back with "market value" offer which was in fact a "trade value". I'm working in motor industry for over 5 years and provided them valuations from CAP Hpi and AT Dealer Portal, platforms that are mostly used for underwriting vehicles in UK. They came back with a total increase of £300 which is still over £1000 below retail market value. I'm raising a complaint with Financial Ombudsman Service. Reviewed on: 4th March 2022

Charged me over double - Admiral are rip off merchants

1
Admiral renewed my policy for £1372.48 (same vehicle as previous year), an increase from last year's premium of £854.87. I then received a quote of £574.50 from another provider with very similar if not better T&C's. So to reward me for my business, Admiral charged me £797.98 more than a rival company!! Smart money people should never consider Admiral for insurance - use comparethemarket, I did and saved enough cash to take my family on a weekend break! They also charged me £40.00 to cancel! I asked their supervisor - Thomas Moore to reconsider the charge and apparently they couldn't. When I suggested cancelling the direct debit, they threatened to pass on the £40.00 charge to a debt collection agency. Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2022

Disgusting admin fees

Well had to ring admiral today to update my address only to get myself a £44 admin fee bill added to my monthly car insurance payments , absolutely disgusting as if we don't make them enough money Reviewed on: 23rd February 2022

Totally let down

1
So it turns out that having paid insurance on our car with Admiral, they've completely let us down. Firstly, it took weeks to get it even assessed and we were told we could carry on driving the car. Until it wasn't okay to and the bonnet finally ripped off on a motorway smashing the windscreen - luckily my husband was in it without out 2 young kids and was able to pull over safely. No apology for that. Then the only garage they sent us to is over an hour away and had no courtesy cars available. We have eventually been provided a courtsey car (after a couple of days with no transport at all) but not allowed to put our dog in it! They have then decided to write our car off, despite the repairs costing only half of the car's value (based on various used car sites) which means we then lose the hire car. Despite not being able to find out how much money they will give us (let alone getting the money) until perhaps next week. No idea why we don't keep the car until they provide us with a means to replace our original. We only found this out via the garage, not the insurers, who have done nothing at all to keep us updated. From this evening we will be stuck trying to get food, take kids to clubs, getting to work at our own cost until Admiral deem they can sort out the payment (no guarantees received here yet!). We can get a second quote on the write off IF we can get someone to visit the car (since we can't drive it any longer). Shocking service, no compassion or empathy AVOID! Rip Off - They ignore you after accident

1
Rip Off - Worst insurance company ever. We have a comprehensive policy & someone crashed into our car while we where parked. Its been 19 days and Admiral have not bothered to organise repair or a courtesy car, they dont reply to emails or calls. Never use them or Elephant / Bell etc all their other trading names. Aweful company - will be reporting them to Insurance Ombudsman. Reviewed on: 10th January 2022

When something goes wrong they will not be there

1
Throughly incompetent company who I will not be renewing my multi-car family policy with after many years of my loyal custom. My car was scratched by a driver who forced his car through when it was my right of way and he was driving on my side of the road. Admiral have been sent dashcam footage of the incident where I was also violently verbally abused. However, because the other driver is also an admiral customer they would rather keep pretending they haven’t received the dashcam footage. Over the past 2 months I have sent it to them in every format imaginable from multiple devices, trimmed it to below what their prehistoric servers can accommodate, uploaded to YouTube as per their request and even sent via Dropbox and cloud systems. Yet they keep harassing me they haven’t received it, undoubtedly to please their other customer and make me partially or fully liable because they don’t want to accept the evidence. I am appalled at the amount of my time they have wasted and I would thoroughly advise you to avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 12th December 2021

Tricky Company

Tricky Company ...they try to cancel the bought insurance by whatever reason and take the subsequent administration fee Reviewed on: 6th December 2021

Absolute disgrace and a con...not able to suddenly drive my car!

1
Dear all, just to inform you that if you are looking for car insurance then do NOT consider Admiral. An absolute appalling service from them. I have never ever experienced a sudden validation audit TWO months into actively having an insurance policy on my wife's car. They sent out a letter and because we didn't respond in THEIR time frame, they were quick to cancel our policy, charge for the month and charge for admin fees! What fees? You were doing the audit! Apparently they needed ID documents for my wife. Why on earth have you authorised a policy if you did not have enough information. When I explained that my whole family has been ill, it made absolutely no difference as to why we hadn't been searching for a letter that I wasn't even expecting! My wife has suffered an asthma attack so going through her post wasn't on the top of our list. The priority was trying to get her better, which is still an ongoing process! As well as taking care of our two children. Not even a phone call to find out what's going on or even a reminder. Just a straight up cancellation but happy to take our money. An absolute disgrace, no empathy or grace period considering the last year or so. It's not like they were paying us anything...we are paying them! I was told that if I return the black box back in time I will get £50 back, despite the fact that you will rob me blind triple that amount! We are actually shocked and appalled. We called and said the documents have been emailed through...but no, just not enough. Seems like Admiral are happy to lose customers because they can make their money by charging you foolish money. Will not be recommending Admiral to anyone and strongly advise anyone against it. Rather than treating us like people we were just merely a policy number that they erased through a tantrum because we didn't respond when they told us to. Such threatening behaviour is not how you get people to do things. As I said, not even a call to give like a last reminder and just to check if we are even alive. Poor service from a joke company. We are strongly considering not paying this money for something we had no clue about. You cancel us but my money is still good enough for you? No thanks! An insurance company i trust

5
I have always been wary of insurance companies but don't have a bad word to say about Admiral. I was in an accident where I wasn't at fault and they looked after me. They also gave money back one year when they made a large profit - brilliant - made me want to stay as they show some care for their customers. Reviewed on: 12th October 2021
