Beware the Admiral Insurance roadside assistance package

ON breaking down (luckily close to a town centre) I had the unfortunate experience of being signed up with Admiral breakdown as part of my insurance package. This is operated by a third party company on behalf of Admiral. I made my call at 12:30pm.... and via a series of completely baffling calls and texts I was not collected until gone 9pm. My brakes had basically clamped into an on position, meaning a roadside fix was not possible. This did not stop the operators from sending out two roadside assistance vehicles over the course of five hours who both told me that for safety reasons, they could not fix breaks by the roadside, and I would need a pick-up to tow me home. Fair enough. Both of these drivers were baffled by the fact I had sat in my car waiting for 5 hours. They told me that the company that operates the call centre is completely unprofessional and frequently makes mistakes. I spoke to the same operator again and again, and eventually a completely different person managed to sort the issue and apologised profusely on behalf of their colleagues ineptness. Eventually I made it home shortly before midnight. Not a great experience. Reviewed on: 16th July 2019

cancelling due to sales of car

we cancelled the insurance with 10 months to go due to having to sell the car due to medical reasons, we only go £200 back from 500 due to "admin charges" felt ripped off Reviewed on: 15th July 2019

Terrible customer service for cancellation

Had no problems with the company during my policy other than a price hike when we moved to a busy area, but when I tried to cancel my policy they tried to charge me £57. I wasn't very impressed, especially as I had a week left before my next payment so had to make a formal complaint. Reviewed on: 13th July 2019

An ok insurer

Not had many problems with admirals car insurance this year. However, I was very shocked to see the amount they were going to make me pay for changing my address! Also I don’t understand how my insurance price raises if I want to roll over the insurance for another year. Reviewed on: 13th July 2019

helpful

somebody ran into the side of me and i was injured. The car was immediately taken away and repaired, and i wsas given a courtisy car. They arrange for physio for me, and i havent had to do anything else, whilst i recouperate. Theyve been so good. Reviewed on: 12th July 2019

Great service

You can only tell how good an insurance firm is when yo need to put in a claim. sadly we had to claim on a motor policy. The whole process was quick, efficient and extremely friendly. Definitely will be insuring with them again Reviewed on: 8th July 2019

They're the cheapest company and decent so that's the one for me!
