A reliable car insurance that's cheap

I have been with Admiral for car insurance since passing my test four years ago. They were a lot cheaper than other insurers at the time, and have consistently offered me a cheaper renewal quote when I shopped around. I find the customer service team to be mostly very helpful. The only complaint I have had was when I renewed my insurance then changed address. When I had renewed I had mentioned I would be moving in a few weeks, unfortunately, the customer service team did not tell me that it would be more expensive in the new area. When the first payment went out I couldn't believe how much the amount had changed. Thankfully, after ringing them up they agreed to reduce my fee as a goodwill gesture. Good for the first year then renewal was too expensive.

For our first year with Admiral they gave us a great multi car quote, they were very helpful on the phone and they seem like a good insurance company. We didn't have an accident so can't comment on that side of things. When our renewal came through it was so expensive, it had gone up by a couple of hundred pounds. Before calling them I got a quote through their website and it came up a lot cheaper. I called them to say can we pay the price on the website but they said they wouldn't price match their website. Reliable Admiral car insurance

Over the years I have changed car insurance a few times. When I insure with a company I choose one that has comprehensive and includes legal cover. When I was switching providers, due to my previous insurer raising the costs I searched through price comparison websites. I found Admiral to be the best price with the requirements I wanted. Not only that, they also included a courtesy car in the case of an accident. Admiral were speedy to send out policy details via email as well. Depending on the renewal quote next month I have no problems staying with them. Reviewed on: 27th August 2015

Easy to sign up with - there when I needed them.

I found it easy to sign up with Admiral and went on for years with being lucky driving in Central London. Then my luck went out and the front of my car got crumpled. They arranged for my poor car to be picked up, fixed it and brought it home when it was better. I did not get a courtesy car but I would not have been able to park it without the car's own parking permit anyway, so this was not a problem. They were there for me when i needed them and I am happy to still be with them, even without a courtesy card. Reviewed on: 25th August 2015

Always worth questioning the renewal quote!

I am currently insured with Admiral and have recently received my renewal paperwork. I had to ring them with a small query and have a say I wasn't on hold for long and the representative I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. However, when I said I wouldn't renew straight away as I wanted to shop around they knocked £30 off the renewal price. If they are prepared to insure me for the lower price then they should put that price on the paperwork to start with!! Still a good price though. Reviewed on: 25th August 2015

Renewal rate not the best.....

Disappointed with my renewal quote for this year. Not as low as expected and took longer to sort than I would have liked! Still a great service however I would expect more as a loyal customer. Reviewed on: 20th August 2015

Multi-car policies the way to go for families

My family currently has three drivers under the age of 25. Therefore we switched all 5 drivers to an admiral multi-car policy. Although the odd person may be paying slightly more than the cheapest quote on an insurance comparison website overall it works out much much cheaper for everyone. The company offers a break down of each drivers cost so splitting the total cost is easy and everyone earns their own no claims bonus. This is a great way to insure young drivers with a reasonably priced fully comprehensive policy, particularly when they are at university and therefore still living at home half the time. Excellend service & value

I have had my car insurance through Admiral for almost 9 years. Admiral always provide excellent customer service, I'm never waiting for an age on hold, they provide amazing value for money and the whole process is seamless and hassle-free from start to finish! Multicar is good but every year you have to fight for a competitive price

The multicar policy is a good way of saving money and they do offer competitive prices. However every year when it comes up for renewal the price goes up even though there has been no claims and we now have another years no claims bonus. So begins hunting around to find a better price then to sit on the phone to them for at least 45minutes whilst they try and get your quote down... It's all very time consuming perhaps they could just give a discount for loyal customers instead of trying to punish those and incentives new customers... Reviewed on: 28th April 2015
