I decided to call AllClear to renew my insurance but also hoping to get some discount from last year as I have completed my medical care. This was a couple of days ago. I have renewed but with this email I find I could have got discount so a it disappointed. Reviewed on: 1st September 2018

All feels like a money machine

The internet questionnaire is the same as any other provider. In our case we had to contact all clear to add migraine to my wife’s declared conditions which added an additional £30 to our annual insurance which we were content with. However, the gentleman on the phone decided to go through all conditions which we had declared only a couple of days ago on internet. He then enquired about my health which my wife stated that he is healthy apart from a sprain in his thumb from when he slipped walking the dog. The man then wanted to talk about my sprained thumb which the consultant had said was nothing serious healing well signed me off and said as it takes a few months to heal and said just check all well in 8 weeks. For this the insurance company asked for an additional £130 to the policy and stated I need to declare this in the future for 2 years. This is a sprained thumb, not broken, no long term effects on my health yet these insurance companies won’t to find anything they can to add additional costs to your policy. When I go away on holiday I won’t to feel reassured that I am covered, however I am concerned that if I get a cold and go to doctors that they will use this to state that it wasn’t declared. Buying the policy was good. Brilliant help from the chap and covered many medical conditions. I have never claimed do can’t comment on that part. But they do address many medical conditions and customer help line did what it said on the tin and was very helpful. Any claim would be the proof in the pudding , but hopefully never needed Reviewed on: 10th October 2025

Purchased a one-off, now have a Multi-trip policy!

First purchased a one-off product for a long trip to Australia. The ease of setup, the clarity of policy and conditions and the process for declaring health conditions impressed me. I have since purchased a multi-trip annual policy covering Europe for my numerous planned trips. The premiums are very competitive indeed because I did a direct comparison with other providers, one of whom was a sponsor of the events I was attending in Australia, and so you would expect to be the best value! Not the case, AllClear beat them hands down! Would recommend AllClear to everyone now. Reviewed on: 10th October 2025

All clear were pleasant to deal with over the phone, gave a comprehensive cruise cover policy explaining everything clearly so I was sure it was the right policy for me. Unfortunately we missed two ports of call due to bad weather in Iceland and on my return I was able to claim compensation which was paid quite promptly. I was a little disappointed to find my policy cost had gone up quite a lot from the previous year and can only assume it was because I had turned 70 even though I am in good health but this seems to be the normal with all insurers. Was very happy with allclear, they were one of the few that would insure me after my cancer diagnosis, maybe had to pay a premium but worth it just to get a break away before my treatment started, plus the staff were all very helpful and sympathetic .
