I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Innovative mobile banking app and everything made really easy

It's easy to bank with Barclays, You can always get through on the phone if you need to, no long queues, any problems are resolved almost instantly and the mobile banking app is brilliant - reliable, multi-functional and full of everything you need for banking on the go. BMB app has fabntastic features allowing me to control how my card is used and what companies are allowed to use my card. This with the control of remote payments allows me to protect myself from online risks with ease. Reviewed on: 1st February 2019

Best customer relation service

Always knowledge le, very short waiting time to answer, non-stop service, excellent app, secure, simple and fast. Immediate emails or text messages about things which concerns me and a cover of my direct debits up to approx 67 £ when my account can't cover, without even asking them for this free of charge service. Incompetent bureaucrats

Possibly the worst bank I've ever had. By updating the website (supposedly, although everything looks the same to me) they managed to break all the links that now result in a 404 error. I cannot even view my last transactions, everything is broken. The app is barely usable, it will close whenever the focus is switched to another app making it impossible to, e.g., copy and paste information for a wire transfer. Their customer service is abysmal: it took them two weeks to answer a request sent from the private area of their website and when they finally replied their answer was "you have to call us or come in person to the bank for privacy reasons." leaving me wondering what's the point of a *private* area if not to ensure privacy. Around Christmas I received an email asking for feedback with the link to a survey, where they said that in case I didn't fill the survey, they'd call me in the next days. No option to opt out and be left alone. But then of course they didn't call me in the end, because it's Barclays and the only thing you can count on is that they won't deliver. Baclays Mobile Monster

i use several banking apps for my current accounts but i have to say that the Barclays Mobile Banking app is the best out of them, it feels the most secure and has great functions. i use it daily to check my finances. the contact us fuction is great as it makes the process so much more streamlined than having to go through those horrible automated choice menus. im glad i move my account here after many years at Halifax Reviewed on: 31st January 2019
