Outdated and ineffective

It took 15 months of forms, calls, branch visits and finally legal intervention to retreive funds which Barclays had held on to after coding a "dormant" account. My family and I were thwarted at every turn by poor communication, ill trained staff, teams buried within the bowels of the bank's centralised structure and just plain apathy or hostility from frontine staff at branches. A truly sick and ineffective relic of an institution. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2025

Excellent customer service always

I've been with barclays for over 15 years now and ive never had any problems with them at all and every time i go to the branch or phone them in any kind of request or rquirement their customer service is 2nd to none. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2026

I have been with Barclays since 1982

Never had a serious issue with Barclays since joining them in 1982. Their internet banking App is very good. It is a pity they closed down nearly all their branches near to me as paying the occasional check was a problem on the App. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2026

Great service

Great friendly, helpful staff both in store and over the phone. Always delt with any issues quickly. Some great benefits with their savings accounts too. Easy to transfer money between accounts too. Would highly recommend Reviewed on: 22nd January 2026

I needed help to set up the Barclays Banking App on...

I needed help to set up the Barclays Banking App on my new IPad, whilst keeping the app. on my existing iPad. Nothing worked at home. A visit to the branch in Dorchester was brilliant. It was complicated, but the staff member went through every option until it was successful, all with great patience and kindness. Having a branch to go into beat anything I could have done on the phone, and I left feeling great appreciation to still have someone to talk to face to face. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2026
