BARCLAYS is the worst bank in the UK.

An absolutely horrendous experience to have as a new customer trying to open a new account. Every single thing that you can think of is wrong with Barclays from quality of service, of products, timelines. My story: I downloaded the app to sign up for a new account. It said my address is not correct, I turned on my GPS while at the address, it said I was not at the address, they sent a PIN by mail after 3 days, entered, it then said it couldnt complete the process and forced me to go to the branch. I then called multiple times to book appointments, got one a week later, they called back 2 days prior to say they are cancelling my appointment. I then call to lodge a complaint, they do not help me at all, hang up on me, judge me for wanting to open too many bank accounts. I now am completely stuck without any way to open an account. Thieves

Over the last 12 months my partner has had countless issues with them losing money, freezing accounts, letting someone change his address over the phone by not taking them through security, refusing to refund a £30 fraudulent transaction which was made by someone on iTunes. Well this morning took the biscuit when he logged on to check the £11000 refund we were waiting to clear from HMRC had been credited, to find they had taken our money and frozen his account. They state it had been flagged up as fraud. It is a genuine tax refund from HMRC?? Now being told they have unfrozen the account but they don’t know what’s happened to our 11 grand and can we give them 24 hours to try and find out. We have 5 children including a 7 month old baby, my partner has been out of work since December as he has cancer and we have less than £30 in the bank. Reviewed on: 28th July 2022

Trying to report a potential fraud on my account

I’m a “Premier” banking customer. So far I’ve spent nearly 11/2 hours trying to speak to someone about a potential fraud on my account that quite possibly has been facilitated by a bank employee. Reviewed on: 21st July 2022

The Best Bank

I have been a loyal customer of this bank, for several years. Their customer service is great & if I have ever had any concerns, they have taken my issue seriously & endeavoured to provide a tailored outcome. Their app is great for tracking my finances, too. Online banking

Online Banking I used to use online banking on Chrome but update to Edge. Recently online banking doesn't work at all, I could log in but see no details and when I try to log out it states "bad command". So I rang customer services to be told to clear my cache & cookies which I have done and it still does not work. I was told to go back to chrome clear my cache & cookies there and try again. I finally managed to do my online banking but WHY... 1. Can't I use Edge? - surely your systems should be working on all modern browsers? 2. Is Barclays be the only bank I have to clear my cache & cookies? I have other online bank accounts and Barclays is the ONLY bank I have to do this for. Very annoying on both counts - please update your technology to be able to deal with these issues. Reviewed on: 16th July 2022

Definitely room for improvement

Up until 2 years ago I absolutely recommended Barclays to everyone… but no longer.. service has gone out of the window, majority of branches have shut, there’s no perks and I’ve somehow been the victim of fraud more times than I can count and I even got locked out of my bank account for a month after bringing it to theyre attention.. my mental and physical health have not been added to my account information regardless of it being requested more than once and I find that customer service including instant message are rude and not helpful… Reviewed on: 4th July 2022
