Local Barclays Branch staff very helpful

I have been visiting my local branch of Barclays in Witney, Oxfordshire since 1979. Over that time I have seen the branch change with regard to size, services and number of staff. I can honestly say that no matter what the changes, the staff there have been, and are, always helpful and understanding. Reviewed on: 12th February 2017

Unable to upgrade account.

I have had a Barclays basic account for over 20 years. Over £3000 is paid in every month and there are a number of direct debits on the account. The account is conducted properly. The criteria to upgrade to a current account are all easily met. Yet I am not allowed to do so because in the dim and distant past i missed two payments on my Barclaycard account. Despite many requests to reconsider they refuse to change this. If I was a criminal I would get out of jail, but once Barclays have judged you that's it. Reviewed on: 12th February 2017

Have been with Barclays since I was 10 years old. Know I could do far better in a bank but seem so scared to change banks. Why is that? Why are we all so reluctant to leave our bank even if we can get a better deal elsewhere Reviewed on: 12th February 2017

British Banking at its Worst

What can I say about Barclays Bank? They are impossible to contact from abroad. They do not provide bank references. They return my wire transfers for no reason leaving me with no money in my account to pay my mortgage. Everything is 'centralised' so discussion with the local bank manager is a thing of the past.
