My Card was compromised

For years my card was compromised by fraudsters around the world causing myself much stress and anxiety and l had to change my card about eleven times but my card was compromised again and again. I had to move to another bank. I was there one Month and Barclays tried to draw monies from my account without my knowledge unsuccessfully so then they wrote to me saying l owed them money so l contacted the banking ombudsman who stopped them in their tracks. I then moved to another bank that Barclays would not know about. Reviewed on: 19th February 2016

Non UK call centres are difficult to communicate with

I wanted to see what my balance way on my account as the online website was down. I called happily called telephone banking only to speak to an advisor who asked me to spell my name 4 times and then said "oh, I don't understand what you are trying to tell me, may I call you Andy (my name is Audrey by the way), after almost 17 minutes of this, I said "not to worry, I'll call back later" to which the advisor replied, "but Andy, I just need your name..." at which point I gave up and was left extremely frustrated all day. I did, however, have the complete opposite experience, after summoning my strength again and calling again a few days later with a lovely advisor who spoke English very well and wasn't at all robotic in her questions, we even had a bit of a giggle. All in all, Barclay's customer service is definitely hit and miss and I do dread calling. Reviewed on: 19th February 2016

Generally pretty positive

I can't think of any problems I've had with this account at all. When there was a discrepancy recently about when my free overdraft ended they were extremely courteous and credited my account with any extra charges I might incur- very good Reviewed on: 19th February 2016

Having a Barclays cyrrent account

I've had my account with Barclays for 8 years now and I thought it was worth saying that I have had zero issues with it. I'm on a standard current account with Visa debit card. I chose at the time bot to pay for one as they had a few options at the time to cover mobile phones etc. I used to bank else where but would get charged stupid figures for sometimes going over my agreed limit before pay day. Don't get me wrong Barclays charge me but we are talking under a pound where it used to be £25. The staff are at my local branch lovely which convinced me to join. The word "banks" has become a dirty word with horror stories on how they treat customers but I for one am happy. Worth a look if you're thinking of changing. Reviewed on: 19th February 2016

barclays always stop activity on the card if they think it has been frauded even something as silly as using it in a different county or country or if you have made multiple purchases Reviewed on: 18th February 2016

i've been with barclays for 2 years and they have always given me great service, been straight forward and helpful

i was previously with santander who had terrible customer service, i was so unhappy with their service i left with barclays, the move was straightforward and they have always been helpful and easy to deal with, i would highly recommend them Reviewed on: 18th February 2016
