Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Very good service never tried the hard sell

I've had a very good experience of Barclays for almost 20 years. They have never tried to hard sell any products to me and given me good levels of overdraft and loans if I needed them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Friendly staff, great for families

Barclays have been fantastic since I switched to them 3 years ago. They're family friendly, providing advice and helping my teenage son set up his own account. It's easy to contact them and manage my account via their app and I feel positive that my details are secure. In my local branch, all the staff are welcoming and quick to help. Great bank. Excellent service and cashback!

Bank account and charges

Been banking with Barclays since I was 16 and they have always been helpful, even through the bank charges saga etc when I claimed money back they were more than helpful. Reviewed on: 13th February 2016

Staff always helpful although there seem to be less of them everytime I visit.

The staff are great but there's no counter service at my local branch on a Saturday-you have to be seen by the Personal Bankers of which there are only one or two. They're also trying really hard to get you to do transactions on the machine in the branch, or online. I don't like that as I'd rather deal with a real person. That said they've always been helpful and professional although as a saver I'd love the interest rate to be a little more generous! Reviewed on: 13th February 2016

safe from scams

My best friend and colleague advised me to switch from lloyds to Barclays after seeing how desperate I was about my bank account being hacked every now and again. I'm very glad for the change as Barclays is indeed safe I don't need to check my online banking everyday worrying my money has vanished, I am pleased with their PINsentry device which keeps my account safe and this is the most important thing about having a bank at your service. customer focused

I like the fact that when you go in the staff are welcoming and friendly.It is now a self service branch,and sometimes I have forgotten how to do something so I ask a staff member a question,that I'm sure they have been asked a million times and they are smiling and happy to help.Great branch and great staff.
