Robbing the poor

I run a small not for profit charity which has banked with HSBC for over 50 years. The bank has just started to charge us to operate the account -about £220 a year. I asked them to reconsider because they were essentially taking money out of charity but they told me to get lost. HSBC made $12.7 billion profit last year so clearly they are desperate for money. Good experience generally but their investment strategy is unethical.

Overall a good, safe bank... but their investment strategy invest in some very unethical indices and listings. If you're ethically conscious then stay clear of HSBC. Reviewed on: 25th January 2022

Byebye HSBC

Sometimes I took much more time only for login; Sometimes I failed to login and I have to go to a branch; Sometimes a lot of branches close (ex, Kings Cross branch); Sometimes transferring my money to another bank with my name need a secure check. And always, you can never successfully give a call to HSBC customer service. In all, HSBC is now a title that will be gone in the near future. Reviewed on: 24th January 2022

Hopelessly bad

It's not a good experience. They can't get their app to work to save their lives. Branch services are a joke, and phone lines are unhelpful Reviewed on: 24th January 2022

Not great - feels tired

HSBC are not as impressive as I had thought they were before becoming a customer. Many of their physical branches are closing down, the phone service is a bit variable, and the app is not user-friendly. Reviewed on: 21st January 2022

Excellent

Very pleased with the service i receive from my bank. The physical building is staffed by helpful, knowledgeable people, and the online process is simple and easy. Would recommend highly. Reviewed on: 20th January 2022
