The Benchmark is the largest piece of independent lender research carried out in the industry using broker feedback, and provides unique and actionable insight into the UK mortgage market.
The H2 2025 edition, released on 26 November 2025 includes in-depth data and insight from 1,040 brokers, who we asked to leave feedback for the last five lenders they’ve placed cases with. Covering 120 UK lenders, the report represents 98% of UK gross mortgage lending.

Overall satisfaction
Overall satisfaction with mortgage lenders increased by 0.03-points to 4.25 out of 5.
Net promoter score
Net Promoter Score (NPS) is up 0.4 points on H1 2025 at +41.3.
Mainstream lenders
Mainstream lenders are the top-rated sector for the first time, with a Broker Experience Index of 72.4.
Buy to Let specialists
Buy to let specialists follow mainstream lenders closely at 72.1.
Specialist lenders
Specialist lenders were the lowest rated, with a Broker Experience Index of 64.1.
