By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Money saving

I have been driving for 6+ years. My premium seemed to be increasing each year with no accidents or zero claims! Quoted £90 per month on comparison websites. Just an absolute joke. Granted you have to pay £300 (or around about) for cover when you’re car is parked. It’s all explained before you purchase thought First my first month I was £34. A dramatic difference from £90. To and from work which is 20 odd miles away from my house. Days out to the beach etc. The app also tells you per journey how much it has costs. Which is interesting to know. Variable tariffs also give you a much better incentive to get out and walk if it can save you some money! Totally recommend. Reviewed on: 11th August 2020

So far, so painless...

I’m a fairly new customer so not yet sure how much of an annual saving this will make. Nor had any reason to contact customer services, so don’t know how good they'd be if any problem arose. The gismo is easy to fit ONCE you know where it goes - the instructions were completely incorrect! It’s a bit alarming to see the full details of every trip I’ve driven is logged - shades of Big Brother... I’m not hugely comfortable with that, but needs must, I suppose. Open, honest, and helpful insurance

By Miles is open about the way it charges it's premiums and honest about everything covered in the policies - there is nothing hidden. Ok so not only were they the cheapest (based on the maximum it could possibly cost for a year), their app is brilliant and if you need to speak to customer services they are available.
