By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Paid way too much over the years!

Having been insured with policies that have been charging a fixed amount for all renewals, I have found By Miles Insurance to be the best way to insure being a low milage car user. It's been excellent during the first lockdown as the only driving was for essential grocery shopping and as we have eased out of lockdown my car use has increased and am able to see what the cost is per month. The customer service is great, they are concise and you aren’t waiting for minutes on end for a response. The pricing is competitive too as overall it is cheaper than the lowest car insurance quote I received and the idea of mileage based insurance is fantastic Reviewed on: 4th August 2021
