The Reliable Bank

Have been with the Co-op for 50 years and have always found them to be honest, fair and reliable. On the odd occasion when there has been a problem they have always been quick to resolve it to my satisfaction. You always know where you are with the co-op. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2017

The Co-operative Bank has been through hard times of late, but since I opened my current account with them back in 1956, I can honestly say that I have never had a problem. Nowadays my banking is mostly done on line and a smart new website, recently added has enhanced that experience. I am totally happy with the Co-operative Bank and the service I receive from it. Conned me into paying for a Current Account

I was told if I paid monthly for the Current Account I would enjoy a better credit rating and access to better mortgage packages. When it came to getting a mortgage I found this to be false. I complained to the financial ombudsman and they ruled in their favour just because they didn't have a full record of why I signed up to the paid package. Just like all other banks, not ethical like they try to pass off to being. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2017

Efficient and ethical

We pay a little extra every month (£15) for an account that include breakdown, travel, and mobile phone insurance. Where else could you get all of that for a cost of £180 a year to cover two people? The Co-op Bank has an easy to use web site and their mobile apps are also good. We've been with them for around 40 years and they've never got anything wrong. We would recommend them unreservedly. Scam

This bank is not cooperating with my bank in order to stop a scam. I have lost £399 and this bank is not wiling to close the scam account (details below) and give my money bank Sort code 087199 Account number 04480495 My bank has contacted them several times and I reiterate that they are not helping Reviewed on: 30th July 2017

Good bank

I don't get actual interest on my balance, but I do get £5.50 per month for just using the account. Given that my average balance is quite low is a pretty good interest rate equivalent. Not had any problems running the account so would definitely recommend. Reviewed on: 24th July 2017
