Well looked after, couldn't do what I wanted so made an appointment later in the day to change my issa account, all done to my satisfaction. Only problem I wanted to make a fairly large withdrawal from another account but was told I could only have a cheque. This seemed unreasonable as it was my money. Reviewed on: 24th June 2026

Pleasant and efficient face to face meeting.

Our experience at the interview was excellent.

Our experience at the interview was excellent. However when we booked the appointment in the branch at Redcar I requested an appointment for Thursday which was agreed and booked. Later in the day we checked the appointment card and realised it had been booked incorrectly for Tuesday, prompting us to phone up to change the appointment back to the Thursday.. Open longer on one day at least

While I was satisfied with the service I received I feel that you should at least open longer on 1 day a week as I found that it took me a little while to get down town in time for reduced open times in Middlesbrough. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2026

Woeful communication

We had a face to face to alert DBS to our new current account bank as recipient of interest plus full amount of a 1 yr bond. We have been DBS members for over 30 years but as pensioners we needed to optimise interest on bonds hence are reinvesting elsewhere. We were told that we could process a CHAPS payment at the counter once the bond matured. When we arrived a) there was confusion about this b) our interest had been transferred to our old current account. Staff unravelled it but it was a very upsetting lengthy avoidable experience.
