Review of the Ecology Building Society, Savings:

The obvious choice

The week that the Ecology Building Society opened, I visited Companies House in London to verify their credentials and have had an account with them ever since. They provide a unique service, in that their are so few ethical financial establishments in which to invest which don't invest in arms or contribute inadvertently to the manufacture of nuclear weapons, by investing in the nuclear industry. The EBS are the only choice for many who wish to buy or improve properties which would simply not be considered by other building societies. Reviewed on: 12th March 2021

totally trustworthy

I have saved with Ecology Building Society for tears, happy to know that my savings are helping to rebuild and revitalise buildings in an ecological way, conscious of re-use and insulation and all things green. trouble-free ethical savings

I've been an Ecology saver for over 20 years, and introduced my children and grandchildren to Ecology saving accounts too. I get a fair rate of interest, and know my savings are being used to help build the kind of world I believe in; moreover the staff are always friendly and very helpful. Reviewed on: 11th March 2021

Small savings account doing good work

I have added modest but regular sums to my Ecology savings account for about 20 years. It's a Foundation Share account and the interest has stayed at a 1 %, a rate that now looks princely for an instant access account. I really like getting updates on projects Ecology has helped financed, especially self build or house conversions which always begin with a commitment to sustainability and finding ways of living and working that don't harm the environment. Green bricks and mortar

My wife and I have been savers with EBS for over 10 years and have never had any cause for complaint on the standard of service. They seem to be well-run, conscientious, aware of their environmental and social impact and it's good to know that our money is funding high quality, environmentally-sound building projects.
