Easy to manage and clear information

I've received clear information from Halifax since setting up my help to buy ISA and they've always ensured that I am up-to-date with my knowledge of the product, including changes to interest rates. It has been easy to manage online and I have been able to get answers to my questions either via the online help pages or by calling a representative. Reviewed on: 28th April 2020

Excellent account

Good all round

No complaints. 2.25% APR, 25% government incentive and pay in up to £200 a month! Just a shame that they discontinued their Help to Buy ISA. Reviewed on: 19th January 2020

A good way of getting on the ladder

The Halifax Help to Buy was very good and it encouraged us to put money away each month. The fact you can’t touch it, makes it a great way of ensuring that it builds up. When it came to closing the account, it was a relatively quick process although they don’t always tell you that you only get the bonus money once you’ve made a purchase. Didn't know their products

I wanted to help my son open a help to buy ISA before the deadline. I spoke to a Halifax advisor online who told me he could open an account online as he was already a Junior ISA holder. To cut a long story short, we weren't allowed to open an account online and when we went into the branch they couldn't help us to open the ISA. It was also suggested I try Santander as he already had a current account with them. After half an hour trying to solve the problem we actually went to ... Reviewed on: 22nd November 2019
