Avoid these chancers

In short I run a BTL business which obviously has a mortgage liability but runs at a consistently high profit. Hanley rejected my application for a personal mortgage (so completely separate to my Ltd) because of the liability attached to my Ltd, but refused to consider the cash flow that the Ltd generates. They took so long to come to a decision that I am now unable to find an alternative lender and will have to stick with my current provider at a higher rate. This is really basic stuff - if they are getting it so wrong at this level I can only imagine how poorly run the rest of the business is. Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 21st June 2024

Fantastic Service

As first time buyers me & my husband were very nervous about buying a house. We spoke to Jane Longmore who was brilliant. She made sure we were at ease & went through every detail with us. Knowledgeable, supportive and friendly

As first time buyers we were more than impressed at the service provided by Hanley Economic Building Society. We spoke with Jane, one of the mortgage advisors - she was wonderful. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and talked us through lots of different options, making sure we understood them all fully. She was open and honest about what would work best for us. Beyond Compare

I have gone through the mortgage process twice before with the larger high street banks, so I cannot stress enough how exceptional The Hanley are. Their customer service is impeccable and communication is consistent throughout the process. They truly make you feel like a valued customer and are very patient and accommodating should things go wrong with your purchase. Clear and friendly advice at The Hanley

We held an arranged mortgage interview with adviser Jane Longmore which was very thorough and answered all our questions. She made us very much at ease and was not in any way pushy. Because we had very particular requirements we eventually chose another lender but The Hanley couldn't have done more to help us. And they are very competitive on their rates! Later Life Mortgage

We applied for a later life mortgage with the Hanley Economic Building Society. The application process was thorough but straight forward and any queries we had were dealt with promply by Jane Longmore, our Hanley's Mortgage Advisor who helped us throughout the whole process. Against the background of the conditions imposed by Covid 19, with people working remotely, the process went remarkably smoothly.
