Avoid these chancers

In short I run a BTL business which obviously has a mortgage liability but runs at a consistently high profit. Hanley rejected my application for a personal mortgage (so completely separate to my Ltd) because of the liability attached to my Ltd, but refused to consider the cash flow that the Ltd generates. They took so long to come to a decision that I am now unable to find an alternative lender and will have to stick with my current provider at a higher rate. This is really basic stuff - if they are getting it so wrong at this level I can only imagine how poorly run the rest of the business is. Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 21st June 2024

Lana made our mortgage application a breeze

As first-time buyers, the foray into understanding mortgages and applications appeared daunting and frustrating at first. However, after a colleague shared their experience with The Hanley and in particular, Lana Beech, deciding on a lender quickly became a no brainer. From the outset, Lana was helpful, positive and friendly. Our sellers wanted a quick sale and Lana did everything she could to ensure our application progressed as quickly as feasibly possible, ensuring all adequate information of my wife's business finances were in order and that any concerns or queries we had were answered promptly. Satisfied first time buyers

My girlfriend and I had a stressful experience buying our flat. We had problems with solicitors, mortgage brokers and long delays at every stage. The one exception to this was our experience with the Hanley and our mortgage adviser Jane Longmore. Jane was helpful, friendly and really responsive. She went over and above to help us, explaining everything really clearly, answering our many questions and ensuring we could get our application through as quickly as possible (down from an estimated 2 months to a couple of weeks). We would wholeheartedly recommend Jane and the whole team at the Hanley (including Alistair and Danielle) for first time buyers and everyone else. We will certainly be sending our friends her way and we will be back as and when we decide to remortgage or move! Thanks again Jane for all your help, we are now happy and settled in our new flat. My Mortgage Experience

I would like to take this opportunity to praise a member of staff at The Hanley Economic. The person I dealt with was Lana Beech, a Mortgage Advisor. I must say from start to finish of the mortgage process Lana was exemplary in her approach. We dealt primarily by email or phone. At every stage if I had a question, I would email her and ask her to ring when available. She never delayed in her response and dealt with my questions both efficiently and with such a pleasant demeanour. I never felt I was a bother no matter how stupid my question may have been. She in my opinion is a brilliant advertisement of how to treat a customer and a tremendous asset to the Building Society. Today, we are so quick to complain but when you have received such excellent services, we should take the time to praise. Thankyou Lana for making such a stressful process an absolute joy. Great re-mortgage advice and support

Jane Longmore was really helpful throughout the process of my re-mortgage. I felt listened too and have secured a mortgage deal that I am very happy with. Jane was consistently helpful and approachable and responded very efficiently with any queries I had. I would recommend this personal service to others. Mortgage Application - Stoke On Trent - Mortgage Advisor - Lana Beech

Lana Beech at The Hanley Economic has been absolutely fantastic with supporting Myself and my Partner when applying for a Mortgage with The Hanley & Porting our current Mortgage with them. She has made the process seem easy and nothing has never been too much trouble even though there has been a few issues along the way due to the Solicitor Reports we received from the previous property we were going to purchase. The House Buying process can be quite stressful as a Young Couple due to not knowing the process fully and Lana has always been on hand to support and being professional with whatever questions we have had.
