Stressful experience

Unfortunately, our mortgage application took 9 weeks to process before we got an offer. Then we we very disappointed when the money didn't arrive in our Solicitors account in time for us to get the keys to our new house which was planned for 14th March. Reviewed on: 30th March 2022

Long process but got there at the end!!

Very happy to say my mortgage application was successful. Eventhough I had a mortgage advisor I was able to talk to the lender directly and this was very important to me as it gave an idea of how my case was progressing. The only criticism I have on this occasion is that It took too long process. Reviewed on: 25th March 2022

Friendly and never felt like 'just a customer'

I have just redeemed my mortgage, which is a happy event. But I am sorry to be leaving HRBS. I have been a borrower for some 15 plus years now and every time I have contacted you staff have been kind, friendly and understanding. Overall, a overcomplicated and drawn out process

Firstly, Jessica was very helpful and lovely. Her communication was very good, and she was prompt at replying and sorting out issues. She was very polite and professional on the phone and in her emails, and I am confident she did her very best at sorting this application. However, the application process was incredibly slow. My building was finished in November 2021, and I started this process in April 2021. We discovered there was a lot of things that we hadn't been asked for originally which led to significant delays and stressful emails from all parties involved. We were repeatedly asked for documents we had sent, and we were unaware our solicitor couldn't be a part of the panel until much later. This led to the use of LDJ solicitors. The person on our case was extremely slow and lacked communication with us, my solicitor and the society. There were numerous mistakes made on the documents and they had to be redone causing further delay. There were things we were not made aware of like the panel to begin with which may have influenced our decision with which solicitor we chose - this could have saved us time and money. We were unaware that there needed to be a different solicitor for the guarantor mortgage as this had not been communicated us, again not until much later. It seemed we had numerous people on the case but not a lot happening. What should have been completed before Christmas was drawn out to March and made the experience more stressful and complicated than it should have been. Once the solicitor on the LDJ panel was removed things seemed to happen more quickly. Reviewed on: 9th March 2022
