So many checks its ridiculous

Had this not been a remortgage and the funds needed for another deposit then I would have walked away from them. Soooooo many checks a criminal would have more chance of securing a job with MI5 than anyone getting a mortgage with them! Reviewed on: 17th September 2021

Personal Service

Definitely feels like old-fashioned service which is lovely on one hand but can be a bit cumbersome in others. I would like to be able to ask my mortgage adviser to act on my behalf instead of having to deal with it myself. Reviewed on: 7th September 2021

Dreadful

We had recently applied for a mortgage through the bank and the back initially agreed to lend us the money required but right towards the end just before they give us the offer letter, rejected our offer as the underwriters didn’t assess my pay properly and on top of that they took a payment of £500 which was non-refundable plus their admin fees. Me and my family are absolutely unhappy and wouldn’t recommend this bank to any of our friends or family as we lost a lot of money and even the property as it was their fault. It was absolutely shocking and unacceptable. We were really looking forward to buying our first house but everything went down the drain. Thankyou for spoiling everything. Banks think we can’t afford a £750 pm mortgage when we are paying £950 pm in rent. Reviewed on: 27th August 2021

excellent service

You came up with an offer when other lenders were dithering. The rate was good and there was no fuss about checking my credentials and background. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2021

Terrible underwriter

Mortgage was being delayed by one particular underwriter, the minute he left for maternity leave the application passed through and faced no delays, it was as if he was deliberately causing hurdles for us to jump. Reviewed on: 26th July 2021
