Very slow!

I’ve never known a slower purchase. Too many hoops to jump through despite the amount of detailed information we provided! Not open to using smaller but specialist solicitors. Shocking valuation, a second opinion should have been taken! The only overriding factor was the underwriter who took a view. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2021

Long winded and frustrating

Poor service

This company were so inefficient. They came back again and again with questions. And just at the last minute before completing, they came back with more questions. They are overly particular. Would not choose again Reviewed on: 12th February 2021

Absolutely useless

We are doing a selfbuidl and applied via Buildbase in August last year, full application went in in October, after two months of not hearing anything we changed, seems you your systems 'lost it' so resubmitted at start of December, after some week so questions, we replied in two days, another wait. More question (which you had already has answers to). Warned we would lose the builder (due to start on site on 15th March) if you didn't give us an answer. More waiting. Warned last possible deadline was today. Get email at 4:30 saying 'underwriter still has a couple of questions but I;m on holiday nest week so I'll tell you what they are when I get back. Call with our builder and he confirmed he cannot wait any longer. What is your official complaints procedure. Reviewed on: 5th February 2021

Never Again!

After months of what felt like going around in circles and being asked for the same info multiple times, we finally got there. Sarah was great, but I’ve never experienced such scrutiny for such a small unregulated mortgage where affordability, experience as a landlord and excellent credit rating were applicable. It felt like every other day another document was required instead of simply requesting what was needed in one request. We ended up sending over 70 individual documents in the end. I was even asked to confirm via email that I understood the contents of a document I had already signed to say I understood the contents! As the title says - never and I mean never again. Steer well clear if you want to keep your sanity and blood pressure down. Reviewed on: 25th January 2021

Self Build Mortgage - More Straightforward than expected
