App good but security concerns

The HSBC app is one of the best I've used in terms of ease of transferring money etc. I would be concerned about security though. I kept getting missed calls while at work (same time each day, didn't get the hint to call another time), it was a HSBC number and I assumed it was a 'do you want a credit card' call as I have had them in the past. This went on, every so often, for a few months then I got a text (which looked like spam) saying there were irregularities in my account. When I called them just to check they said it looked like someone was fraudulently taking money from my account each month. Other banks block your card if they have a genuine concern, which, while it is annoying, with a 24hr help line, it's easy and quick to unlock. HSBC put me on hold for ages and then told me I could have lost all the money. The app on my phone is good but also generates my security code for online banking, which I can also access from my phone. So if someone steals my phone and somehow discovered my app log in, they could easily have full access to my whole account. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

Win 1000 for Bank review

Money goes in and money goes out, they don't charge me but they make momey on my money while it sits in their safekeeping. I would rather this system than paying a monthly fee and getting a tiny amount of interest unless it was in my favour. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

No benefits for loyalty

I've had the account for 25 years, it now pays no interest and the 'upgrade' to advance happened automatically, everybody else got Σ200 to switch to it. The online experience is slow and temperamental and the 'benefits' are lackluster and unimpressive. Yes i'm going to switch. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017

I've been with HSBC for over 3 years now. Their customer service is fine. I've never had any complaints. The incentive towards royal customers like myself is zero. I was never offered anything. I will be switching to another bank which offers various deals & money for switching. Reviewed on: 8th November 2017
