Great Idea, Great Execution

Laka, in my view, is the sort of organisation that we would like to see more of in other walks of life. Their disruptive, customer-centric, business model is a welcome change from the usual painful insurance experience that we are all used to. Congratulations to the team for daring to be different! Unbelievably good service, especially when I had a claim - They paid the same day!

I have only been a Laka customer for about 4 months and even though July is their ‘peak’ month for claims, I have still only paid about £16 to date. On top of this, while cycling in Italy last week I had an incident with my Garmin cycling computer. The clamp holding it to my bike broke mid-ride at about 40 km/h and the Garmin flew off my handlebars and smashed on the road. I immediately emailed Laka and although I initially had a little trouble with the website, they jumped into action to help process my claim and it was easy to upload a video statement of what happened and a picture of my broken Garmin. They could not have been more helpful. What really blows me away is that the next day I went to a local store in Italy to buy a replacement Garmin and Laka immediately repaid me and had the money back in my bank account by the time I went to bed that evening. I have never known an insurance company to be this helpful or pay out this quickly. A huge thanks and Laka have a customer for life! I would highly recommend Laka! Reviewed on: 5th September 2018

Great idea, looking forward to it in Southeast Asia

Love the concept of not paying any premiums upfront, but rather a share of the actual claims cost at the end of the month, up to a clearly communicated personal cap.
