Left laptop on train. Was replaced (since named item) and due to the one we bought no longer being available we ended up with a better one than we started with!

Was hassle free and call center staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Now have all my insurance through them.

If I could give 0, I would , shocking long wait anytime I called ,staff communication with each other very poor ,worse with customer .I decided in the end not to proceed with making a small but very genuine claim as they make it nearly impossible to proceed .I have several different policies over last 15 years without ever making a claim with L and G ,will never re new again , disgusted !Daniel Chambers

Can’t get on your policy even though you set up account you can not access your policy when you ring up after break in of shed just after having your van broken in to and loads of tools stolen no you can’t claim . Waste of time having insurance with them agent say you should have bike cover and tool cover separate we’re do you cross line on content as when you insure you tell the your self employed this is just like ppe it’s no good if your self employed but they like taking your money will check all small print next time no renewal with you thank allot

Changed policy cover without bothering to tell me

I took out home insurance with Legal & General in January 2017. I received no communication from them until a renewal e-mail arrived in December. When I took the trouble to look through the renewal documents, I noticed they didn't cover my wife's engagement ring, which had been a separately-listed high value item for which I'd paid a premium.

When I called to clarify, they told me they had stopped covering this in June, and had sent me a message to my online account to tell me this.

I received no notification of this message, no letter, no e-mail, and no phone call.

Unless you want to have to log in and check your secure online messages every few months to make sure Legal and General haven't changed your cover without telling you, do not use them for insurance.

I also echo the comments about extremely long wait times to talk to them on the phone.

Used legal and general last year for home and buildings cover included home emergency cover for boiler, plumbing , electrical,
Had to call them in February of this year as had a leak waited for Plummer then had a call saying he couldn’t come and could he come later in week I said no as water was leaking into home ended up calling a local Plummer called again later in year as tap in downstairs toilet didn’t work this time Plummer did arrive but said as it wasn’t my main bathroom I was not covered, called again this weekend as boiler was playing Plummer came took lots of pictures made a report told me I should call insurance company Monday which I did was told not covered as limescale in my area had affected boiler so if you live in London which has a lot of limescale save your money and look somewhere else, hope this helps needless to say won’t be renewing policy next year
