Friendly, Efficient and Accessible Service

The above title pretty much sums up Metro Bank. Following a bad experience with a previous bank, I was left in a very stressful situation. Walking in off the High Street into my local Metro branch (Croydon), I was instantly given the human touch. I was listened to, an appointment made to speak with a business manager and within 3 days I had an account opened that is right for my community interest company. I love the fact that Metro continues the tradition of making banking easy for all and making that person to person contact a key part of their service. Reviewed on: 6th April 2023

Easy to open a Business Bank Account

It's often takes most banks weeks before they access you a business account. Metro Bank in Peterborough however only takes a couple of hours. I was really impressed with the professionalism of the staff that worked there. Marina was really helpful and accommodating. Also, it's rather pleasent going to the bank and speaking to chearful and helpful staff and have the occassional banter with them. Inexplicably bad service

I thought Metro were great until inexplicably they started to demand huge amounts of information about my company and personal background. I run a small marketing business (turnover approx £200k) but they acted like I was a multimillion corporate. I provided everything they wanted, which took my accountant and I several weeks to produce during the very busy post-Covid recovery period. But they kept coming back for more, asking so many ridiculous questions and eventually I had to say I was too busy and couldn't provide everything unless they gave a valid reason. Then suddenly, with warning, they gave notice to close our account in 60 days. We appealed to them to reconsider but they refused so we had to find other banking arrangements.
